OK, I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but i have heard Part of Your World (Reprise) by Sierra Boggess, which prompted me to buy it. So my full review will come later.

I've just gotta say, (and this isn't a slight on Jodi Benson, mind you) but Sierra's voice is just so much RICHER than hers. And the orchestration sounds as gorgeous and as faithful to the original.

Plus, Sierra Boggess = HAWT.

Ah, first post in my shiny new lj. So anyway, saw Across the Universe on Sunday. Some random Thoughts:

-I said it before when the soundtrack came out, and I'll say it again: Bono fails at Beatles. Completely. Epicly. idk, maybe it's just a personal thing or something, but I don't appreciate this mindless raping of my favorite song. Bono ftl.

-God, they were all so HOT. Srsly. and Dana Fuchs (Sadie) was AMAZING. So was Jojo. I loved the characters. (Max: "What'll he do? What'll he do? What'll he do do DO?!")

-OMFG SO PRETTYFUL 'N' SPESHULFIED [/immature]

-My only crit is mostly run of the mill movie crit; maybe better character development (I was going to say it was cliched, but come ON, it's a musical! Musicals are cliched! "Kathy and Don fight the obstacles set by Lina Lamont but hook up in the end!" "Sandy and Danny's love survives their differences and a happy ending is had!" "Satine teaches Christian the most important thing is just to love and be loved in return!" "Simba returns to his place as the king of the Pride Lands!"). Also, my main crit (tho personal it is) is that, after listening to the soundtrack, it wasn't exactly how I pictured it. But I can't complain, because it was, like I said before, TEH PRETTEH.

So yeah, it was a very fulfilling movie experience.

(Also, it's weird that ATU is one of the few franchises (fandoms?) that I actually invested money on, lulz. I paid real, actual money to buy the 2-disc soundtrack and my movie ticket instead of the ole Limewire. When I'm really into something, I'll go the honest route, and not the piracy route.)
